Romyzian Garden

One Man’s Love Became
a Healing Forest.
A Garden Blossomed with
the Wisdom of Life

Welcome to Romyzian Garden, where love has blossomed into a forest.
One man’s deep love has become a healing forest embracing a weary world.

Nestled on the mountainside of Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, at an elevation of 550
meters, Romyzian Garden is far more than a tourist destination.
For 16 years, this place was lovingly created for a beloved wife — a heartfelt tribute
to life and a forest of self-reflection where visitors may rediscover themselves.

Romy and Jian — A Miracle Created by Two Hearts

As they witnessed the wife, who had suffered from bronchial asthma,
gradually regain her health through the fresh air and warm sunlight of this place,
the couple began shaping the forest into a sanctuary for all who seek love, rest, and recovery.
After 16 years of devotion, this vast landscape of over 330,000 square meters has blossomed
into a certified “Healing Forest” recognized by the Korea Forest Service.

  • Birch & Hydrangea Garden
A sea of flowers touching the sky — the Hydrangea Garden
at 550 meters above sea level.

Hydrangeas blooming among the birch trees create a dreamlike landscape,
as if clouds had gently settled upon the earth.
Looking down upon the hydrangeas blooming along the mountainside,
you may feel as though you are standing above waves of white blossoms.
With their abundant beauty, hydrangeas possess the gentle healing power of gardens,
bringing calm and comfort to those who see them.
In particular, Annabelle hydrangeas symbolize “a girl’s dream” and “generosity.”
Within this secret flower tunnel where pure white birch trees meet delicate hydrangeas, let your long-held worries drift away beyond the petals and fill yourself with bright, pure energy for life.

  • Geumgang Pine
    Forest Bathing Trail

Filled with the energy of Mount Gariwang, these towering Geumgang pine
trees form one of the purest and most vibrant spaces in Romyzian Garden.
A gentle wooden deck path winds through the majestic pine forest, allowing
visitors of all ages to comfortably embrace the healing atmosphere of the woods.
This area is also known for its exceptionally high phytoncide
concentration of 377.17 pptv, offering one of Korea’s cleanest forest
environments where simply staying can refresh both body and mind.
Relax on the sunbeds and hammocks placed throughout the forest trail.
Quietly gazing into the forest while listening to pine leaves swaying in the
breeze becomes a form of meditation that brings profound rest to the mind.

  • Romy Garden

Romy Shangri-La — A Garden of Love Holding a 60-Year Promise Among all places
in Romyzian Garden, Romy Shangri-La holds perhaps the most beautiful and heartfelt story.
Created in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary in 2024, this English-style garden was dedicated by founder Jian to his beloved wife, Romy, who stood beside him through the years.
A place where love is promised and memories are preserved — just as their 60 years
together testify, this garden has become a beloved destination for heartfelt proposals
    and meaningful vow renewals.

  • Green Tristesse Muse Hill

Beyond Solitude, Toward Joy — Green Tristesse Muse Hill
“Tristesse” is a French word meaning sadness or melancholy.
Yet the sadness found here is not despair.
Founder Jian believed that “human nature is rooted in solitude,
and only those who become friends with solitude can find true happiness.”
This “hill of solitude” hidden within the green forest
invites visitors into deeper reflection on life.
Here, the precious lessons gathered throughout the founder’s long
journey through life unfold gently within nature.

  • Sunlight Healing Terrace

Behind the Mountain House, a long red deck stretching along the cliffside
offers one of the most breathtaking views in Romyzian Garden.
Below your feet, the peaceful Nampyeong fields unfold in a sweeping panorama.
This is the very first place in the garden to receive the morning sunlight.
As the crimson sun rises over the mountain ridge, the red deck merges with the sunlight,
creating the breathtaking illusion of floating above the sky.
